8:5 - Now {δὲ<de>} in {ἐν<en>} the {τῷ<ho>} Law, {νόμῳ<nomos>} Moses {Μωϋσῆς <Mōusēs>} commanded {ἐνετείλατο<entellomai>} us {ἡμῖν<egō>} to → stone {λιθάζειν. <lithazō>} such {τὰς τοιαύτας<ho toioutos>} women. ← So {οὖν <oun>} what {τί <tis>} do → you {σὺ<sy>} say?” {λέγεις;<legō>}

8:7 - And {δὲ<de>} as {ὡς<hōs>} they → continued {ἐπέμενον<epimenō>} to → ask {ἐρωτῶντες<erōtaō>} him, {αὐτόν,<autos>} he stood up {ἀνέκυψεν<anakyptō>} and {καὶ<kai>} said {εἶπεν<legō>} to → them, {αὐτοῖς·<autos>} “Let → him who {ὁ <ho>} is • without sin {ἀναμάρτητος<anamartētos>} among → you {ὑμῶν<sy>} be • the → first {πρῶτος<prōtos>} to • throw {βαλέτω<ballō>} a → stone {λίθον.<lithos>} at {ἐπ᾽<epi>} her.” {αὐτὴν<autos>}
8:8 - And {καὶ <kai>} once more {πάλιν<palin>} he bent down {κατακύψας <katakyptō>} and • wrote {ἔγραφεν<graphō>} on {εἰς<eis>} the {τὴν<ho>} ground. {γῆν.<gē>}
8:9 - But <δὲ <de>} when → they {οἱ<ho>} heard {ἀκούσαντες<akouō>} it, • they went away {ἐξήρχοντο<exerchomai>} one {εἷς<heis>} by {καθ᾽<kata>} one, {εἷς <heis>} beginning {ἀρξάμενοι<archō>} with {ἀπὸ<apo>} the {τῶν<ho>} older {πρεσβυτέρων<presbyteros>} ones, ← and {καὶ<kai>} Jesus {ὁ Ἰησοῦς<ho Iēsous>} was → left {κατελείφθη<kataleipō>} alone {μόνος<monos>} with {καὶ<kai>} the {ἡ <ho>} woman {γυνὴ<gynē>} standing before him. {ἐν μέσῳ οὖσα.<en mesos eimi>}
