7:53 - • {καὶ<kai>} [[Theywent {ἐπορεύθησαν<poreuomai>} each {ἕκαστος <hekastos>} to {εἰς<eis>} his {αὐτοῦ,<autos>} ownhouse, {τὸν οἶκον<ho oikos>}


8:1 - but {δὲ<de>} Jesus {Ἰησοῦς<Iēsous>} went {ἐπορεύθη<poreuomai>} to {εἰς <eis>} the {τὸ<ho>} Mount {ὄρος<oros>} ofOlives. {τῶν ἐλαιῶν.<ho elaia>}


8:2 - Earlyinthemorning {ὄρθρου<orthros>} • {δὲ<de>} hecame {παρεγένετο<paraginomai>} again {πάλιν<palin>} to {εἰς<eis>} the {τὸ<ho>} temple. {ἱερὸν<hieron>} • {καὶ<kai>} All {πᾶς<pas>} the {ὁ <ho>} people {λαὸς<laos>} came {ἤρχετο <erchomai>} to {πρὸς<pros>} him, {αὐτόν,<autos>} and {καὶ<kai>} hesat {καθίσας<kathizō>} downandtaught {ἐδίδασκεν<didaskō>} them. {αὐτούς.<autos>}


8:3 - • {δὲ<de>} The {οἱ<ho>} scribes {γραμματεῖς<grammateus>} and {καὶ<kai>} the {οἱ <ho>} Pharisees {Φαρισαῖοι<Pharisaios>} brought {ἄγουσιν<agō>} awoman {γυναῖκα<gynē>} whohadbeencaught {κατειλημμένην<katalambanō>} in {ἐπὶ<epi>} adultery, {μοιχείᾳ<moicheia>} and {καὶ<kai>} placing {στήσαντες <histēmi>} her {αὐτὴν <autos>} in {ἐν<en>} the midst {μέσῳ<mesos>}


8:4 - theysaid {λέγουσιν<legō>} tohim, {αὐτῷ·<autos>} “Teacher, {διδάσκαλε, <didaskalos>} this {αὕτη<houtos>} woman {ἡ γυνὴ<ho gynē>} hasbeen caught {κατείληπται<katalambanō>} in the act {ἐπ᾽ αὐτοφώρῳ <epi autophōros>} ofadultery. {μοιχευομένη·<moicheuō>}


8:5 - Now {δὲ<de>} in {ἐν<en>} the {τῷ<ho>} Law, {νόμῳ<nomos>} Moses {Μωϋσῆς <Mōusēs>} commanded {ἐνετείλατο<entellomai>} us {ἡμῖν<egō>} tostone {λιθάζειν. <lithazō>} such {τὰς τοιαύτας<ho toioutos>} women.So {οὖν <oun>} what {τί <tis>} doyou {σὺ<sy>} say?” {λέγεις;<legō>}


8:6 - This {τοῦτο<houtos>} • {δὲ<de>} theysaid {ἔλεγον<legō>} totest {πειράζοντες<peirazō>} him, {αὐτόν,<autos>} that {ἵνα<hina>} theymighthave {ἔχωσιν<echōsome>} charge to bring against {κατηγορεῖν<katēgoreō>} him. {αὐτοῦ.<autos>} • {δὲ <de>} Jesus {ὁ Ἰησοῦς<ho Iēsous>} bent {κύψας<kyptō>} down {κάτω<katō> andwrote {κατέγραφεν<katagraphō>} withhisfinger {τῷ δακτύλῳ<ho daktylos>} on {εἰς <eis>} the {τὴν<ho>} ground. {γῆν.<gē>}


8:7 - And {δὲ<de>} as {ὡς<hōs>} theycontinued {ἐπέμενον<epimenō>} toask {ἐρωτῶντες<erōtaō>} him, {αὐτόν,<autos>} he stood up {ἀνέκυψεν<anakyptō>} and {καὶ<kai>} said {εἶπεν<legō>} tothem, {αὐτοῖς·<autos>} “Lethim who {ὁ <ho>} iswithout sin {ἀναμάρτητος<anamartētos>} amongyou {ὑμῶν<sy>} bethefirst {πρῶτος<prōtos>} tothrow {βαλέτω<ballō>} astone {λίθον.<lithos>} at {ἐπ᾽<epi>} her.” {αὐτὴν<autos>}


8:8 - And {καὶ <kai>} once more {πάλιν<palin>} he bent down {κατακύψας <katakyptō>} andwrote {ἔγραφεν<graphō>} on {εἰς<eis>} the {τὴν<ho>} ground. {γῆν.<gē>}


8:9 - But <δὲ <de>} whenthey {οἱ<ho>} heard {ἀκούσαντες<akouō>} it, • they went away {ἐξήρχοντο<exerchomai>} one {εἷς<heis>} by {καθ᾽<kata>} one, {εἷς <heis>} beginning {ἀρξάμενοι<archō>} with {ἀπὸ<apo>} the {τῶν<ho>} older {πρεσβυτέρων<presbyteros>} ones, ← and {καὶ<kai>} Jesus {ὁ Ἰησοῦς<ho Iēsous>} wasleft {κατελείφθη<kataleipō>} alone {μόνος<monos>} with {καὶ<kai>} the {ἡ <ho>} woman {γυνὴ<gynē>} standing before him. {ἐν μέσῳ οὖσα.<en mesos eimi>}


8:10 - • {δὲ<de> Jesus {ὁ Ἰησοῦς<ho Iēsous>} stood up {ἀνακύψας<anakyptō>} andsaid {εἶπεν<legō>} toher, {αὐτῇ·<autos>} “Woman, {γύναι,<gynē>} where {ποῦ <pou> are {εἰσιν;<eimi>} they?Hasno one {οὐδείς<oudeis>} condemned {κατέκρινεν; <katakrinō>} you?” {σε<sy>}


8:11 - She {ἡ<ho>} • {δὲ<de>} said, {εἶπεν·<legō>} “No one, {οὐδείς,<oudeis>} Lord.” {κύριε.<kyrios>} And {δὲ<de>} Jesus {ὁ Ἰησοῦς·<ho Iēsous>} said, {εἶπεν <legō>} “Neither {οὐδὲ<oude>} doI {ἐγώ<egō>} condemn {κατακρίνω· <katakrinō>} you; {σε <sy>} go, {πορεύου,<poreuomai>} and {καὶ<kai>} fromnow {τοῦ νῦν<ho nyn>} on {ἀπὸ <apo> sin {ἁμάρτανε.<hamartanō> no more.”]] {μηκέτι<mēketi>}
