Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind - {Interlinear <Greek>}

9:35 - Jesus {ὁ Ἰησοῦς<ho Iēsous>} heard {ἤκουσεν<akouō>} that {ὅτι<hoti>} they → had → cast {ἐξέβαλον<ekballō>} him {αὐτὸν<autos>} out, {ἔξω,<exō>} and {καὶ<kai>} having → found {εὑρὼν<heuriskō>} him {αὐτὸν<autos>} he → said, {εἶπεν·<legō>} “Do → you {σὺ<sy>} believe {πιστεύεις<pisteuō>} in {εἰς<eis>} the {τὸν<ho>} Son {υἱὸν<huios>} of → Man?” {τοῦ ἀνθρώπου;<ho anthrōpos>}

9:39 - • {καὶ<kai>} Jesus {ὁ Ἰησοῦς·<ho Iēsous>} said, {εἶπεν<legō>} “For {εἰς <eis>} judgment {κρίμα<krima>} I {ἐγὼ<egō>} came {ἦλθον,<erchomai>} into {εἰς<eis>} this {τοῦτον<houtos>} world, {τὸν κόσμον<ho kosmos>} that {ἵνα<hina>} those who {οἱ<ho> do → not {μὴ<mē>} see {βλέποντες<blepō>} may → see, {βλέπωσιν<blepō>} and {καὶ<kai>} those who {οἱ<ho>} see {βλέποντες<blepō>} may → become {γένωνται.<ginomai>} blind.” {τυφλοὶ<typhlos>}

John 9:35–41

The whole of the Christian life consists of getting to know Jesus better and better. Jesus sought out the healed man in order to confirm his saving faith. Once again for John, the prevailing question in his Gospel, and in our lives, is, “Who is Jesus?” Jesus is the promised Son of Man (Dan. 7:13–14; Matt. 26:64), who one day will rule over all nations (Rev. 11:15). The gifts of God must lead us to the true and final gift of God: Jesus himself.
